On the morning of August 20th, President Guo Dongming met with Ablameyko Sergey, Rector of Belarusian State University and National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Room 312 of the main building. The two sides discussed the matters about cooperation education .Vice President Zhu Xi accompanied the meeting.

President Guo Dongming welcomed Ablameyko Sergey's visit and expressed his sincere thanksto the Belarusian State University for their full support on the preparation work of the establishment of the Joint Institute of Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University. He believed the Joint Institute will become a new model for international cooperation institute under the joint efforts of the two universities. At the same time, President Guo Dongming suggested that the two universities should make full use of the resources of the joint institute to further broaden the scope of cooperation and promote deep cooperation in scientific research, personnel training, teacher-student exchanges and other fields.

President Ablameyko Sergey said that the Belarusian State University attaches great importance to cooperation with Dalian University of Technology and is full of expectations for the Joint Institute and will fully support the construction of the Joint Institute. The main purpose of this visit is discuss the detail of the cooperation based on the previous agreement framework, and promote the implementation of the cooperation between the two sides as soon as possible. President Ablameyko Sergey believe that the cooperation between the two universities will become a model for cooperation between Belarus and China. President Ablameyko Sergey hope to strengthen the comprehensive cooperation with Dalian University of Technology.
