From October 12 to 15, 2025, the Finals of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (2025) were held at Zhengzhou University. After fierce competition, two participating teams from DBJI finally won 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.

Among the participating projects, the project Devices in the Post-Moore Era: High-Computing-Power, "Zero"-Power-Consumption Photonic Computing Chips, guided by teachers including Cao Tun and completed by students Pang Jingzhe, Liu Zeyu, Smolskaya Nadzeya, Bobkov Dimtriy, etc., won the Silver Medal in the International Project category of the competition.

This project is committed to developing the next-generation AI photonic chips, using "light" instead of "electricity" to achieve a leap in computing power. The chip adopts intelligent color-changing materials as photonic switches, featuring zero standby power consumption and ultra-low loss. Its computing speed is 1,000 times faster than traditional electronic chips, and its energy consumption is reduced by more than 97%. Targeting fields such as artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, and optical communication, the product can help significantly reduce electricity costs of cloud computing centers and enable terminal devices to obtain long-lasting high-performance computing power. At present, the chip has passed verification and will promote the construction of a sustainable "light-speed highway", completely solving the power consumption anxiety in the intelligent era. The series of scientific and technological innovation achievements demonstrate the youthful creativity and social responsibility of DBJI students.

Since the launch of this year’s competition in April 2025, DBJI has fully leveraged the advantages of Sino-foreign cooperative education, optimized and integrated Chinese and foreign teaching resources, built a high-level innovation and practice platform, and guided Chinese and foreign teachers and students to understand and engage deeply in the competition. During this period, the institute efficiently promoted the organization, selection, and cultivation of the competition. Relying on the strong support and careful guidance of professional-related schools and the College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, it polished and optimized the teams entering the on-site national competition, fully ensuring the quality of the projects and laying a solid foundation for the excellent results in the competition.
In the future, DBJI will continue to take high-level scientific and technological innovation competitions as a powerful way to cultivate high-quality international innovative talents. It will promote learning and innovation through competitions, guide more outstanding Chinese and Belarusian students to actively engage in the wave of innovation, cultivate the spirit of "daring to explore" and the ability of "being able to innovate", and contribute youthful strength to promoting Sino-foreign scientific and technological exchanges and advancing scientific and technological progress.
