Cicadas chirp in midsummer, composing a moving farewell movement; Chinese and Belarusian hearts unite to envision youthful journeys ahead. On the afternoon of June 10, the 2026 Graduation Ceremony and Farewell Reception of the DBJI was held. Present at the ceremony were Prof. Ji Shunying, Secretary of the Party Branch and the Dean of DBJI; Prof. Gao Junfeng, Vice Dean of DBJI; members of the supervision group; faculty representatives and parent representatives. Together with all 115 graduates of the Class of 2026, they witnessed this milestone marking the completion of their studies. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Ma Donghan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Vice Dean of DBJI.
The ceremony officially began with the majestic national anthem of the People's Republic of China.
Ji Shunying delivered a graduation speech. On behalf of DBJI, he extended warm congratulations to all 2026 graduates — 73 undergraduates, 31 master's students, and 11 doctoral students — and expressed sincere gratitude to the faculty and staff of both universities who nurtured them, as well as to all the parents and students who provided unwavering support. He noted that the institute has consistently aligned with national strategies, deeply cultivating China-Belarus scientific, educational, and people-to-people exchanges. Leveraging platforms such as the China-Belarus Industrial Equipment and Instruments "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory and the China-Belarus University Alliance, DBJI has been rated as an outstanding case of Sino-foreign cooperative education, elected as the chair unit of the third session of the Chinese-foreign Joint Institutions Committee, and achieved fruitful results in international exchanges, mutual visits between China and Belarus, and academic competitions.
Ji Shunying further highlighted that the class of 2026, as the sixth cohort of graduates from the college, has demonstrated excellent academic conduct and impressive achievements. Among the undergraduate graduates, 18 have been recommended for admission to top universities such as Peking University and Zhejiang University, 21 have been admitted to domestic "Double First-Class" universities for postgraduate studies, 15 will pursue further studies at prestigious institutions at home and abroad, and 19 have taken up quality positions across various sectors. Among the postgraduate graduates, three will pursue doctoral degrees, and 23 have joined research institutes and leading enterprises to begin their careers. He encouraged all graduates to maintain a striving attitude as they embark on their new life journeys, affirmed that DBJI will always be their solid backing, and wished them all a bright and steady future.
Viktor Kochin, Vice-Rector of Belarusian State University, sent his best wishes and high expectations to the 2026 graduates via a recorded video message. In his address, he expressed that the knowledge students gained at the DBJI would serve as a solid foundation for their future success and hoped that they would achieve excellence in their respective careers.
Natalya Ignatovich, Vice-Rector of Belarusian State University, also delivered sincere wishes and deep expectations for all 2026 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral graduates via an online video address. She expressed her hope that the graduates would excel in their chosen fields and achieve remarkable success on their career paths.
Wang Zixuan, a representative of the 2026 undergraduate graduates majoring in Engineering Mechanics, delivered a speech. She stated that all graduates would bear in mind the motto of Dalian University of Technology, dedicate themselves to serving the country through their professions, act as envoys of China-Belarus friendship, live up to the expectations of their alma mater, and extend their sincere best wishes.
Lu Ke, a representative of the 2026 postgraduate graduates majoring in Applied Physics, delivered a speech. He thanked the Chinese and Belarusian supervisors for their years of careful guidance. He shared his growth during his doctoral studies from three perspectives: solid research foundation, diverse international study experiences, and reflections at the point of graduation. He said, "Graduation is not the end of academic exploration, but a new beginning for independent research."
Prof. Wang Yuefang from the School of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering, speaking as a representative of Chinese faculty, looked back on the years spent mentoring students. He expressed his delight that students have grown into internationally-oriented, interdisciplinary talents through the China-Belarus joint training platform and wished all graduates a brilliant future in their careers.
Ivan Dadziankou, a representative of the Belarusian faculty, delivered a speech. He highly praised the diligence, collaborative spirit, and inclusive approach of the graduating class, encouraging graduates to stay true to their research aspirations, deepen their expertise, and wished them all a bright future.
The DBJI prepared custom commemorative gifts for all graduates, presented as a token of memory of their time on campus and as a farewell blessing.
In gratitude for the years of joint cultivation by Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University, the 2026 graduates presented a self-made commemorative photo gift to DBJI.
The graduation ceremony concluded amidst warmth and high hopes.
