In active response to Dalian University of Technology's requirements regarding the organization and participation in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition (2026), and to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education while nurturing innovative talents for the new era, DBJI has initiated its competition preparation work since April 2026. The institute has established an international collaboration platform for participating teams through a series of activities, including kick-off meetings, joint team formation between Chinese and Belarusian students, thematic discussions, and mock presentations.
Taking advantage of the DUT-BSU International Summer Camp, the institute held a project introduction session on the afternoon of July 7 for students from Belarusian State University. This session actively facilitated project alignment between the two sides, enabling students from both countries to gain a comprehensive understanding of each other's project directions, technical approaches, and team compositions. Through voluntary registration, mutual selection, and the institute coordination, a total of 15 Sino-Belarusian joint teams were successfully formed and are expected to register for the competition. Each team consists of both Chinese and Belarusian students, fully reflecting the international characteristics of DBJI.
Following team formation, all participating teams quickly entered their preparation phase. Chinese and Belarusian students engaged in in-depth discussions on project selection, technical solutions, business models, and roadshow presentations, continuously refining their project content. Through hands-on training, students from both sides steadily improved team coordination and project maturity.
After thorough preparation, DBJI held a project presentation and roadshow event on the afternoon of July 16. Faculty members with relevant expertise from the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the School of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering, the School of Physics, the School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, and the Joint Institute of BSU-DUT were invited to serve on the review panel. Each participating team took the stage to deliver impressive presentations covering project backgrounds, core technologies, innovative highlights, and commercial value. The judging panel conducted comprehensive evaluations based on multiple criteria, including project innovation, feasibility, team collaboration, and commercial and social value.
After fierce competition, six teams stood out and were awarded first, second, and third prizes. At the award ceremony, Liudmila Liashenka and Wu Heng presented prizes and certificates to the winning teams in recognition of their hard work and innovative achievements during the preparation.
DBJI has always adhered to the philosophy of "promoting innovation through competition and educating through competition," and has repeatedly achieved outstanding results in international events. This series of preparation activities not only built an international collaboration platform for participating teams but also encouraged more Chinese and Belarusian students to engage in the international track of the competition through systematic training and resource integration. In the process of mutual learning and exchange, students have strengthened friendships, enhanced their capabilities, and showcased the wisdom and vitality of Chinese and Belarusian youth on the global innovation stage.
