From May 21 to May 27, 2026, DBJI successfully organized and completed thesis defense for its 2026 graduates of master's students. Following the Institute’s international joint-training model, all students passed degree thesis defenses held by Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University. This marks another fruitful achievement for the Institute in cultivating high-level international-oriented talents.
The defense was carried out in strict compliance with degree-awarding regulations of both universities and requirements for Chinese-foreign cooperative education, with rigorous checks on thesis quality. All submitted theses went through three review procedures: internal expert evaluation, double-blind external review, and academic misconduct detection, so as to guarantee academic standards from the outset.
Adopting a dual-university coordinated model combining on-site and online sessions, the defense panel consisted of senior professors from China and Belarus. Each postgraduate took part in separate defenses for the two universities and received comprehensive, multi-dimensional assessment by Chinese and foreign experts. Their professional knowledge, research innovation capacity, cross-cultural communication skills and complex-problem-solving competence were major evaluation focuses. Experts from Belarusian State University participated in the full review process via remote connection, breaking geographical barriers and enabling efficient academic evaluation collaboration between the two locations.
A strong academic atmosphere prevailed at the defense. Students presented clear thinking and composed responses. With solid professional expertise, remarkable research competence and fluent bilingual presentation, they fully demonstrated their research outcomes and won full recognition and high praise from Chinese and foreign judges. All postgraduates successfully passed defenses of both universities.
Degree thesis defense serves as a key concluding phase of postgraduate training and a critical checkpoint for degree-awarding quality. The successful dual-university joint defense of the 2026 graduates of master’s students further validates the sound design and operational strength of DBJI's international talent-training model. Going forward, the Institute will deepen teaching and research cooperation with Belarusian State University, continuously refine its joint-training system, and strive to foster more high-quality interdisciplinary talents with global vision and solid professional capabilities.
