Classes officially commenced for 2026-2027 autumn semester on August 31. Giving high priority to teaching operations for the new semester, DBJI completed pre-semester preparations to help faculty and students start the first class of the semester with full enthusiasm.
On the morning of the first school day, Professor Zhang Chi, Vice-President of Dalian University of Technology, together with Professor Liu Zhijun, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and other university administrators conducted an on-site inspection of teaching activities. They visited classrooms to review class operations and logistical support, and offered guidance accordingly. The group also talked with course instructors, encouraging them to leverage strengths brought by international cooperation, uphold high teaching standards, and set a solid start for the new semester.
Professor Ji Shunying, Dean of DBJI, noted that the institute would fully implement guidance issued by the Academic Affairs Office, reinforce teaching management responsibilities, and ensure teaching work moves forward at a high standard.
Meanwhile, Gao Junfeng, Vice-Dean of DBJI led the undergraduate academic administration team on classroom inspections. They visited classrooms for all grade levels, focusing on instructors’ teaching performance, student attendance rates, and in-class engagement. All instructors were present and punctual at the start of the academic session, arriving fully prepared to deliver their classes. Classrooms saw lively and active student-teacher interaction, with each teaching segment flowing seamlessly into the next, ensuring an efficient and engaging learning experience throughout the day.
During class breaks, Professor Gao Junfeng talked with faculty and students. He looked into how foreign instructors were adapting to teaching in China in the new semester and the difficulties and needs they faced in the classroom. He assured them the institute would provide full teaching-related support. He also encouraged students to stay focused in class, make the most of learning opportunities at the institute, build a solid, well-rounded knowledge base, and strengthen cross-cultural communication competencies.
A total of 20 faculty members from Belarusian State University will deliver core major courses and Russian-language course this semester. Twelve undergraduate exchange students majoring in mechanics, physics, and economics from the BSU-DUT Joint Institute have joined Dalian University of Technology to take courses and participate in research practice.
