On the morning of June 17, the opening ceremony of the DUT-BSU Scientific Research and Innovation Center was held in Room 312 of the main building. President Guo Dongming of DUT, President Andrei Carroll of Belarusian State University, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President Zhu Hong, Assistant President Luo Zhongxuan, The first vice president of the Belarusian State University Alek Ivaskovic, and the Vice president of international and teaching affairs Konstantin Kazataev attended the ceremony. The relevant units such as DUT-BSU Joint Institute, School of International Education, Department of Transportation Engineering and Mechanics, School of Economics and Management, and School of Physics attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by the Assistant President Luo Zhongxuan.
Before the ceremony, Guo Dongming met Andre Carroll and his party in Room 312. The two sides have in-depth exchanges on cooperation in running schools and personnel training.
Guo Dongming welcomes President Carroll's visit. He said that BSU is one of DUT's most important strategic partners. The Institute jointly established by the two universities had created a new model of international joint school running and had broad prospects for development. The signing of this agreement will further promote the in-depth development of the cooperation between the two universities, better serve the country's "Belt and Road" construction, and do more for the development of China and Belarus.
Andre Carroll congratulated Dalian University of Technology on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the school, and expressed thanks to DUT for its continuous efforts in running the school. He said that he was full of confidence in the prospects of the future cooperation between the two sides, and hoped that the two universities would continue to work together to continuously expand the areas of cooperation, promote the further development of both sides, and cultivate more high-level compound talents with international vision for both countries.
After the meeting, the second meeting of the Joint Management Committee of the DUT-BSU Joint Institute was held in Room 512 of the main building. Ji Shunying, Dean of DUT-BSU Joint Institute, reported on the basic construction, enrollment and teaching, student work, financial situation for the past year, existing problems and future work plans. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on further broadening the cooperation majors of the Institute, strengthening curriculum construction, and improving the quality of talent training.
