On the afternoon of November 12th, the third meeting of the Joint Management Committee of the DUT-BSU Joint Institute and the first meeting of the Joint Management Committee of the BSU-DUT Joint Institute was held in room 412 of the main building. President Guo Dongming of DUT, Vice President Zhu Hong, President Andrei Carroll of BSU, the Executive Vice-President Dmitry Medvedev of BSU, and the Vice-President of international and teaching affairs Konstantin Kazadaev attended the meeting. The relevant units such as the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the Finance Office, the School of International Education, the DUT-BSU Joint Institute and the BSU-DUT Joint Institute attended the meeting.
President Guo Dongming said that in the context of the global impact of the epidemic, the DUT-BSU Joint Institute and the BSU-DUT Joint Institute still operate well which cannot live without the great efforts of the staff of both sides. He expressed his gratitude to everyone on behalf of the school. According to the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, the insistence on innovation-driven development is put on a prominent position, and the construction of world-class universities will be continuously guaranteed. The cooperation between DUT and the BSU is in line with the national policy, and has a broad prospect. President Guo wished that the global epidemic would be brought under control and the exchanges between the teachers and students of the two schools would resume as soon as possible. The comprehensive cooperation between the two schools would reach a new level, and the two sides would continue to contribute to enhancing the friendship between China and Belarus.
President Carroll said that DUT is an important strategic partner of the BSU. He expressed gratitude to DUT for its continuous efforts in running schools and was full of confidence in the future of the joint institute. It was hoped that the two universities would continue to work together to explore new ideas and measures for cooperation.BSU is willing to work with DUT to provide support for international talent training and scientific research cooperation, promote the better and faster development of DUT-BSU Joint Institute and BSU-DUT Joint Institute, maintain high-quality education, and cultivate more high-level compound elites for China and Belarus.
Ji Shunying, Dean of DUT-BSU Joint Institute and Sarah Duhem, Dean of BSU-DUT Joint Institute respectively reported on the running of the Union College in the 2019-2020 school year. The meeting reviewed and approved the work points of the Union College in the 2020-2021 school year. After the recommendation and deliberation, the Joint Management Committee of the BSU-DUT Joint Institute was established, and the list of members was announced. After consultation between the two parties, the two universities jointly signed the“Administrative Regulations on Double-employed Teacher between Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University”.
The members of the Joint Management Committee agreed that the teachers and students of both sides overcome the impact of epidemic and have taken active actions in institutional construction, enrollment publicity, professional construction, teacher team, student training, cooperation and exchanges and so on.It's obvious to all that the work are fruitful.In the next step, it is necessary to summarize experience, explore new ideas and innovate measures around the evaluation of the Ministry of Education and the comprehensive development of the institute. The two sides reached consensus on topics such as strengthening exchanges of visits and exchanges of teachers, strengthening comprehensive cooperation between industry, university and research, and increasing cooperation in humanities and social sciences.
