As the first and only international cooperative educational institution jointly approved by the Ministry of Education of China and Belarus, DBJI is a major measure taken by DUT to enhance the level of internationalization and build "Double First-class" education in cooperation with the Promote Co-Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative Educational Action of the Ministry of Education of China.

In order to better implement the university's strategy of international talent cultivation, in 2019, DBJI recruited students majoring in physics and mechanics from BSU to study in the same class, research in the same group, and live on the same campus with students from DBJI, forging a profound "Schoolfellow Friendship". After four years of hard work, five Belarusian students successfully met the graduation requirements of both DUT and BSU this June, then becoming the first batch of Belarusian students to receive degrees from both schools.
