Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei Ivanets visited DUT-BSU Joint Institute

On the afternoon of 22 May, Andrei Ivanets, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, and his delegation visited DUT-BSU Joint Institute. Andrei Krasutsky, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, Aleksandr Podkovyrov, Minister Counsellor of Belarus in China, Anastasia Semashko, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Belarus in China, Ji Shunying, Director of DUT-BSU Joint Institute, Liudmila Liashenka, Director of the BSU-DUT Joint Institute, as well as representatives of teachers and students from both sides attended the event.

Minister Andrei Ivanets and his delegation learned about the development of DUT-BSU Joint Institute and the construction of DUT-BSU Research and Innovation Center, and highly appreciated the achievements in cooperative education by the institute.

Minister Andrei Ivanets said that Belarusian President Lukashenko visited China in December 2023, and the two countries have reached a lot of consensus in science and technology, culture, talent cultivation, etc. The 2024 General Conference of the China-Belarus University Alliance and the Founding Conference of the China-Belarus University Alliance Cluster Mechanism aim to promote higher education exchanges and academic research cooperation between the two countries. The DUT-BSU Joint Institute carries out integrated talent training system of bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree, which is a model of educational cooperation between China and Belarus. He said that great importance should be attached to the growth of young talents, encouraging teachers and students of the two countries to strengthen the study of Chinese and Russian, promoting in-depth cultural exchanges between the two countries, and deepening friendly and practical cooperation.

At the end of the seminar, Minister Andrei Ivanets made a special handwritten message to inspire the teachers and students to contribute their wisdom and strength to the educational endeavours of the two countries.
