On the morning of 31 March 2023, Yuri Senko, Ambassador of Belarus to China, accompanied by his delegation, paid a visit to our university. Vice President Zhang Chi of our university received the delegation in Room 312 of the Main Building. The two sides mainly exchanged views on the educational cooperation of our university with Belarus.

Zhang Chi extended a warm welcome to Yuri Senko and his delegation. Following a brief introduction to the university’s profile, Zhang Chi stated that Dalian University of Technology is committed to further contributing to the educational and scientific cooperation between China and Belarus.

Yuri Senko stated that the joint training of students carried out by Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University holds great significance for the educational cooperation between the two countries. Moreover, he mentioned that the Embassy of Belarus in China is prepared to make unremitting efforts for the cooperation between China and Belarus.

Following the meeting, Yuri Senko and his delegation visited the History Museum of DUT. Subsequently, they attended a discussion hosted by DUT-BSU Joint Institute. During the discussion, they engaged with the Institute’s leadership in in-depth conversations regarding the Institute’s construction, international exchanges and cooperation, talent cultivation and other pertinent matters. The Director of the Institute, Ji Shunying, and the Vice Director, Guo Shuhong, provided a concise overview of the Institute’s current status. Yuri Senko spoke highly of the Institute’s development achievements and emphasized that the Embassy of Belarus in China would persist in serving as a vital bridge, actively promoting the high-quality progression of China-Belarus education and jointly building an “all-weather” friendship. At the conclusion of the discussion, Yuri Senko made a special handwritten message for the students, inspiring them to contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative”.

Dmitry Kovalenoch, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Belarus in China, and Yulia Saroukhanova, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Belarus in China, accompanied the visit. Meanwhile, Cheng Yingjun, the Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Dalian Municipal People's Government, also joined the visit. In addition, relevant leaders from the International Office, the School of International Education, and DUT-BSU Joint Institute of the university participated in the reception activities.
