In a bid to thoroughly execute the "Belt and Road Initiative", further enhance the in-depth educational cooperation between China and Belarus, and propel the "Integrated Promotion for Dual High-Quality Achievements" within the institute, on October 12th, the DUT-BSU Joint Institute organized a symposium and teaching workshop for Chinese and foreign teachers to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road Initiative". The event aimed to review the fruitful cooperation and strategize for future development. Present at the event were Ji Shunying, the Director of the DUT-BSU Joint Institute, Denis Marmysh, the Vice Director, Wu Heng, the Vice Director, Gao Junfeng, the Vice Director, Hong Ming, the Head of Undergraduate Teaching Supervision Group, as well as representatives of the teaching staff from both Dalian University of Technology (DUT) and Belarusian State University (BSU). The symposium was presided over by Guo Shuhong, the Vice Dean of the institute.
Director Ji Shunying said in his speech that DUT-BSU Joint Institute came into being and flourished under the background of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, and the teachers and students of the two universities have carried out in-depth co-operation and exchanges in the fields of teaching, scientific research and culture, and the flower of friendship has borne the fruits of co-operation. At the new historical starting point of the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, we expect that the two universities will further deepen the connotation of cooperation, and the faculty members of the two universities will fully grasp the opportunities for cooperation, and actively engage in the Education Action under “Belt and Road Initiative”, so as to continuously inject new vitality into the development of the cause of higher education in the two countries. The two universities are looking forward to further deepening the cooperation between them.
Vice President Denis Marmysh said that this symposium has strongly promoted the exchange and cooperation between teachers of DUT and BSU, and he sincerely hoped that the two universities could have more frequent and friendly interactions, and continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of scientific research and talent cultivation, so as to jointly write a new chapter of China-Belarus educational cooperation.
Director Ji Shunying gave a detailed introduction of the research cooperation between the faculty members and encouraged them to actively carry out research cooperation. Vice Director Gao Junfeng gave a detailed introduction to the teaching regulations, further clarifying the job responsibilities of teachers from both China and Belarus in terms of preparation for lectures, assessment requirements, teaching quality and other aspects.
At the workshop, Hong Ming, the Head of the Undergraduate Teaching Supervision Group, called on Chinese and foreign teachers to further innovate their teaching ideas and focus on highlighting the characteristics and advantages of cooperative education. Teacher representatives carried out in-depth exchanges around teaching work.

With the increasingly close relationship between the two universities, the number of teachers and exchange students from both sides has been increasing year by year, and this semester a total of 16 teachers from BSU have come to China for teaching. In addition to teaching and scientific research activities, DUT-BSU Joint Institute continues to carry out the “China National Education Series”, organizing foreign teachers to go to Dandong to carry out educational practice, to visit the History Museum of DUT, and to watch red movies, so as to convey the voice of China, and to build a bridge of exchange and mutual understanding between the national excellent culture and the world's civilizations.
Having sailed through hardships together for over ten years, we are moving forward bravely towards the future. The cooperation between Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University is a good example of China-Belarus cooperation in the field of education. In the next decade, the construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative” is set to unlock fresh prospects and opportunities for both China and the global community. In the future, with the joint support and close cooperation between the two universities, DUT-BSU Joint Institute will continue to make great efforts in international cooperation and exchanges, to improve the level of international education, and vigorously cultivate first-class international talents with expertise in one field and capabilities in multiple areas, so as to make contributions to promoting the building of a China-Belarus community with a shared future.
