On November 21st, the inauguration ceremony of the "China-Belarus University Alliance", jointly led by Dalian University of Technology and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, was successfully convened in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. 81 universities from China and Belarus have become the first batch of alliance members. Jia Zhenyuan, the President of Dalian University of Technology, attended the ceremony. Meanwhile, Ji Shunying, the Director of the DUT-BSU Joint Institute, and Guo Shuhong, the Vice Director of the Institute, together with relevant personnel, accompanied the ceremony.
At the inauguration ceremony, the member universities of the alliance jointly signed the Agreement on the Establishment of the China-Belarus University Alliance. Jia Zhenyuan, the President of Dalian University of Technology, delivered a speech on behalf of the Chinese universities in the alliance.
At the China-Belarus University Presidents' Forum held on the same day, 18 leaders of Chinese and Belarusian universities discussed the topics of “Cultivating Digital Literacy of Students in the Age of Intelligence”, “Application of Digital Technology in Organizing Educational Processes”, “Distance Education and Joint Training Programmes”, etc. They shared their views and experiences in promoting transnational educational cooperation in the era of artificial intelligence.
DUT-BSU Joint Institute, as the first international cooperative education institution at undergraduate level established under the joint approval of the Ministry of Education of China and Belarus, will take the establishment of China-Belarus University Alliance as an opportunity to closely align with the requirements of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, and conduct more in-depth exchanges and collaborative cooperation in the areas of exchanges of teachers and students, joint talent cultivation and scientific research. It will also endeavour to cultivate more high-level international talents who are proficient in the languages of the two countries and familiar with the cultures and national conditions of the two countries, enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between teachers and students of the two countries, and continue to add a glorious chapter to the story of China-Belarus educational cooperation and constantly enhance the China-Belarus relationship.
The China-Belarus University Alliance was established upon years of educational cooperation between China and Belarus. The Joint Institute of Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University has been actively engaged in the entire preparatory and construction process, under the robust support and guidance of the Chinese and Belarusian Ministries of Education, the Embassy of China in Belarus, as well as the Embassy of Belarus in China.
This Alliance is dedicated to constructing a platform for high-level exchanges and cooperation within the realm of higher education between the two countries. It aims to expand cooperation channels, enrich cooperation forms and connotations, continuously deepen the exchanges and collaborations among universities of both sides, pioneer a new paradigm of international educational cooperation, and accumulate non-governmental strength for the enduring friendship between China and Belarus.
