In response to China's innovation-driven development strategy and to further reform innovation and entrepreneurship education, DBJI held the launch meeting for the 2025 China International College Students' Innovation Competition on the afternoon of April 2, 2025. The event aimed to cultivate and select innovative and entrepreneurial talents for the new era. Attendees included Prof. Wu Zhenyu, Vice Dean of the Dalian University of Technology (DUT) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute, and Assoc. Prof. Denis Marmysh, Belarusian Vice Dean of DBJI. Faculty members, counselors, and student representatives from both China and Belarus were also present. The meeting was chaired by Wu Heng, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean of DBJI.

To help faculty and students better understand and prepare for the competition, Prof. Wu Zhenyu was invited to deliver a keynote report. Drawing on his extensive experience in innovation and entrepreneurship education, he provided an in-depth yet accessible explanation of the competition's background, rules, evaluation criteria, and preparation strategies, offering valuable insights for participants. To facilitate smooth preparation, a WeChat group for communication was established on-site, and team registration for the competition was officially launched.

Vice Dean Wu Heng emphasized that the China International College Students' Innovation Competition is the highest-level, largest-scale, and most influential innovation and entrepreneurship event in China, serving as a vital platform for integrating industry and education and promoting the transformation of scientific achievements. DBJI adheres to the principle of "promoting innovation through competition and nurturing talent through competition," achieving remarkable results in international events. In 2023, a joint project by Chinese and Belarusian students won a gold medal, marking a historic breakthrough for Liaoning Province in the international track. To date, the institute has secured 1 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals. During the preparation process, the institute will provide comprehensive support to all teams participating in the international track, coordinating resources from partner institutions in Belarus, including outstanding faculty and students, to refine projects and enhance competitiveness. Wu encouraged more students to seize this opportunity and shine on the global stage of innovation.
The preparation work not only provides an international collaboration platform for participating teams but also enhances students' interdisciplinary skills and global perspectives through systematic training and resource integration. DBJI particularly encourages underclassmen to engage in the competition's preparatory activities, gaining hands-on experience and broadening their horizons for future innovation practices.
This event marks a new beginning for the institute to further inspire students' passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, strengthen collaborative education advantages, and scale new heights in scientific and technological innovation. DBJI looks forward to its students showcasing their talents on the international stage, achieving outstanding results to accelerate the DUT's "Double First-Class" initiative, and contributing youthful energy to global scientific exchange and technological progress!
