"Embracing October: A Joint Canvas of Culture - China-Belarus Cultural Week" Concludes Successfully

From October 15 to 22, DBJI and BDJI jointly organized the "Embracing October: A Joint Canvas of Culture - China-Belarus Cultural Week" series. The event further expanded and deepened cultural cooperation between the two universities while strengthening the profound friendship between Chinese and Belarusian faculty and students.

The opening ceremony was successfully held on the evening of October 15, attended by leadership from both DBJI and BDJI, faculty representatives, and international students from Belarusian State University. Following the ceremony, DBJI and the Belarus Research Center invited Dr. Zhao Huirong from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to deliver a lecture titled "Ten years of Belt and Road Construction in Belarus: Progress and prospects". The lecture comprehensively covered the background, history, current status, and future prospects of Sino-Belarusian cooperation, enhancing participants' understanding of bilateral exchanges.

On the afternoon of October 18, DBJI organized a Tai Chi Culture Experience activity. Mr. Yang Yulong from the School of Kinesiology and Heaith Promotion of DUT explained the profound philosophy behind Tai Chi, demonstrated elegant martial arts movements, and taught basic techniques. Belarusian participants not only experienced the physical and mental benefits of Tai Chi but also gained deeper appreciation for this intangible cultural heritage.

On the evening of October 18, DBJI and BDJI jointly hosted a "Friendship in Minsk & Friendship in Dalian" exchange event for first-year students. Through virtual connections, new students from both institutions introduced their respective cultures from different life perspectives, fostering mutual understanding and injecting fresh energy into institutional collaboration.

From October 19 to 20, DBJI arranged Chinese Culture Tour to Shenyang for teachers from BSU. Participants visited historical sites including Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence, Shenyang Imperial Palace, Liaoning Provincial Museum, and Zhaoling Mausoleum. Through these visits, teachers from BSU gained insights into Liaoning's rich history, experienced local cultural landscapes, and developed deeper understanding and affection for China while hearing contemporary Chinese stories.

On the evening of October 22, Sviatlana Balotnikava and Halina Sharshukova, lecturers from the Russian Language Department of BSU conducted a Belarusian culture lecture for DBJI students. The presentation covered Belarus' economic and political landscape while vividly showcasing its unique charm through perspectives on art, literature, architecture, environment, and technology. Students not only learned about Belarusian culture and national conditions but also enhanced their appreciation for cultural diversity.




The Cultural Week series enabled participants to experience the unique cultural charm of both countries, broaden international perspectives, improve cross-cultural communication skills, and strengthen institutional bonds. DBJI will continue leveraging the strengths of both institutions to advance international education and promote excellence in China-Belarus exchanges.
