2025-04-21

To further promote cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign faculty and students, and to offer participants from Belarusian State University (BSU) an immersive experience of traditional Chinese festival culture, sporting spirit, and modern technology, DBJI successfully organized the "Embrace Spring, Experience China" themed event series on campus from April 3 to 18, 2025. The series featured three distinct activities: the "Qingming Food Delights: Qingtuan Making Workshop", "Ping Pong China: Table Tennis Coaching", and "Smart Future: AI Empowers Education and Daily Life".

The series commenced on April 3 with the "Qingming Food Delights: Qingtuan Making Workshop". Focusing on the hands-on creation of Qingtuan, the event attracted enthusiastic participation from BSU faculty members and students. Guided by volunteers, participants personally crafted their own Qingtuan, gaining a tangible connection to the culinary traditions of Chinese festivals. Volunteers also provided insightful explanations of the history and rich cultural significance of the Qingming Festival, deepening the foreign participants’ understanding and appreciation of this important Chinese tradition.

On April 8, the "Ping Pong China: Table Tennis Coaching" activity unfolded at the university gymnasium. Ms. Zhang Xiaojian from the School of Kinesiology and Heaith Promotion was invited to provide professional instruction on table tennis fundamentals to the participants from BSU. From learning basic techniques to engaging in interactive practice, participants showed great enthusiasm, experiencing the charm of China's "national sport" in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. This sporting interaction effectively strengthened cooperation and friendship among the Chinese and foreign participants.

The afternoon of April 18 marked the successful conclusion of the "Smart Future: AI Empowers Education and Daily Life" workshop, held in Room 110 of the Second Teaching Building. Faculty and students from Belarusian State University took part in it. The workshop centered on the innovative applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, presenting a systematic overview of various smart tools and apps designed for teaching management, online meetings, bilingual translation, and everyday convenience. Through vivid demonstrations and interactive experiences, the participants gained valuable insights into the development and practical application of AI technology in China. This provided them with fresh perspectives and new tools to enhance teaching efficiency, optimize classroom management, and facilitate smoother cross-cultural communication in the future.
