The 1st Sino-Belarusian "Young Scientists Forum" Concludes Successfully

To foster a favorable academic atmosphere, stimulate innovative vitality, and facilitate the rapid growth of young scholars, the "Young Scientists Forum" of DUT-BSU Joint Institute was successfully held from December 2nd to 9th. Ji Shunying, Director of DUT-BSU Joint Institute, Liudmila Liashenka, Director of the Joint Institute of Belarusian State University and Dalian University of Technology, and Alexei Tolstik, Head of the Department of Laser Physics and Spectroscopy, attended the event. This forum was held in three sub-forums on December 2nd, 6th, and 9th respectively according to different majors. The sub-forums on Mathematics/Mechanics, Physics/Optics, and Economics were respectively chaired by Denis Marmysh, Vice Director of DUT-BSU Joint Institute, Gao Junfeng, also Vice Director of DUT-BSU Joint Institute, and Anastasia Kiselevich, a faculty member of the Economics Department at Belarusian State University.

On the evening of December 2nd, the sub-forum on Mechanics/Mathematics, as well as the opening ceremony of the forum, was held online. Ji Shunying and Liudmila Liashenka respectively gave encouragement to the participating students, saying that this academic forum would build a high-level academic exchange platform for the teachers and students of both sides and create a new prospect for international exchanges and the cultivation of innovative talents.

At the sub-forums on Mathematics/Mechanics, Physics/Optics, and Economics, young teachers, postgraduate and doctoral students, and senior undergraduates from the School of Economics and Management of our university, DUT-BSU Joint Institute, and Belarusian State University presented their scientific research achievements through 19 outstanding academic reports. They further shared their research experiences and mental journeys, and provided references and inspiration for the participating students during the Q&A session. This exchange truly led to mutual learning and common progress. Teachers specializing in the relevant majors attended the corresponding subject sub-forums and offered many valuable comments and suggestions.

The young represents the future of the world, and young scientists are the pillars among them. This "Young Scientists Forum" was oriented towards the academic frontiers. In a relaxed and free environment, everyone shared new ideas, inspired new ways of thinking, and distilled novel viewpoints. In the future, the institute will actively establish diverse academic exchange platforms. From an international perspective, it will vigorously cultivate students' scientific research and innovation capabilities, continuously enhance the "Schoolfellow Friendship" between Chinese and Belarusian students, promote the qualitative and quantitative upgrading of exchanges and cooperation between DUT and BSU, and jointly push for new achievements in the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
